Optimal Computer System for Playing at Online Casinos
Online Casinos are of course online so there are a few things that are needed to play.
Computer
For starters a computer. Duh! Without a computer no matter how hard you try, you're not going to play in an online casino. Some Sports-books will allow you to phone in a bet; but that probably wouldn't work with Roulette.
"Give me $10 on Black."
"Sorry. The outcome is red."
"All right-y, give me another $10 on Black."
"Sorry, again it's Red. Today's not your day, sir."
Using a Public Computer?
A common question is if a player can gamble on a public computer, say at a library. The answer would be maybe. Some online casinos don't allow action from public sites because public sites use a proxy, which is against most casinos Terms & Conditions.
Most public computers don't allow the downloading of software so if you were to play on a public computer it would have to be a Flash or Java version. In general, it's not a good idea to be putting sensitive personal and financial data into a public computer.
What kind of computer?
If your computer is from 1986, don't expect to be able to access an online casino.
Online casinos, because of their advanced graphics and sounds, take up a lot of your computer's memory. You would need a computer with a lot of free memory, or installing an online casino could make your whole system slower.
An optimal computer system for playing at an online casino really depends on the software of the casino. Most online casinos can support PC's with at least Windows 98 and higher. Most online casinos are also adaptable to Mac users as well.
Some online casinos take up more memory than others. Before installing an online casino onto your computer, know your system's configurations and make sure to check the casinos system configurations.
Connection Speed
Connection speed is important when playing in an online casino. It is not mandatory to have a DSL or Cable connection but it is highly suggestive. If using a dial-up connection it will take a lot longer to download software and the games will take a lot longer to play. For example, if playing in an online Poker tournament, the person with a dial-up connection might wind up making other people wait. Also, if using a dial-up the likelihood of a computer freezing is a lot higher than that of a DSL or Cable connection.
